­Such stor­age units (shared dri­ves) can be set up by the cen­tral IT de­part­ment and are avail­able to Win­dows users as well as Mac users (for the lat­ter, the use is a lit­tle more com­pli­cat­ed, as the dri­ves have to be in­te­grat­ed as SMB shares). Ac­cess is only pos­si­ble in­ter­nal­ly in the net­work.
